Local SEO in plain words

No jargon. This is all it is, and all you need to know.

  1. Someone nearby searchesThey type what you do, like “plumber near me”, into Google on their phone.
  2. Google shows three businessesA map with three places under it. Most people pick one of those three.
  3. You are one of them, and they callWe do the work that puts you there. You answer the phone.

What is in a Google Maps listing?

This is what people see before they call you. Every numbered part is something we fill in, fix or keep fresh for you, inside your Google Business Profile.

  1. Your name and categoryThe right main category decides which searches you show up for.
  2. Stars and reviewsMore good reviews, each one answered, so people trust you before they call.
  3. Opening hoursCorrect hours, holidays included, so nobody drives to a closed door.
  4. The buttons that bring customersOne tap to call or find you. We make sure every one of them works.
  5. PhotosReal photos of your work and your team, added every month.

What is local SEO, and why does the map matter?

When somebody searches for a business near them, Google shows a map with three businesses under it, before any website. Local SEO is the work that puts yours among those three, and keeps it there.

Those three places get most of the calls, the directions and the visits, because they answer the question without a single click. A business missing from them is invisible to people who were ready to buy today.

The work covers your Google Business Profile, your reviews, the directories that list you and the pages on your website. For people further away, ordinary search does the job: that is our Google Ranking (SEO) service.

  • Your profile stays yours Registered in your name. We manage it with your permission, and you can remove us at any time.
  • One location or many A single shop or a chain of clinics. Each location gets its own profile, kept correct.

How does Google decide which businesses show on the map?

Google says it weighs three things for every local search. One of them nobody can change. The other two are exactly what local SEO works on.

  1. Relevance

How well your profile matches what the person typed. A dentist listed only as “clinic” loses the search for “emergency dentist”.

The right categories, every service listed, descriptions written the way customers search.

  2. Distance

How far you are from the person searching, or from the place they named. Nobody can move your address, and nobody honest pretends to.

Service areas set correctly and a page for each place you serve, so you count wherever you really work.

  3. Prominence

How known and trusted your business looks: reviews and your replies, mentions on other sites, and your website.

A steady flow of real reviews, a reply to every one, local links and listings that agree everywhere.

Find out where you stand on the map.

Send us your business name and town. We compare you with the businesses above you and say what is holding you back.

Are you losing customers on Google Maps?

If customers come to you, or you go to them in a set area, the map is where most of them now start.

  • Competitors appear, you do not

People nearby search for what you do, and three other businesses get the call.

  • Your details are wrong online

Old opening hours, a previous address or a dead phone number are sending customers away.

  • Few reviews, or unanswered ones

A handful of reviews, a bad one sitting without a reply, and no simple way to ask happy customers.

  • You opened a new location

A new shop or clinic that nobody can find on the map yet.

  • You lost access to your profile

A former employee or agency set it up, and now nobody knows the login.

  • Strangers edit your listing

Google accepts suggested edits from the public, and nobody checks what changed.

Who does what?

You run your business. We look after how it shows on Google. Your part takes minutes a month.

What you do

  • Answer the phoneWhen the new customers call.
  • Tell us what changesNew hours, a new service, a new address. One message is enough.
  • Send a few photosOf your work, when you have them. Your phone camera is fine.

How do you get more Google reviews, the right way?

Reviews are the part of local SEO you can grow every week. Google's rules are strict about how, and breaking them can get reviews removed or a profile suspended.

  1. 1
Ask at the right momentRight after a good visit, a finished job or a thank-you. That is when people are happy to write two lines.
  2. 2
Make it one tapA short link in a message, or a printed code at the counter that opens the review form directly.
  3. 3
Answer every reviewA thank-you for the good ones; a calm, helpful reply to the bad ones. Future customers read your answers.
  4. 4
Never pay or reward for reviewsDiscounts or gifts for reviews break Google's rules, and so does asking only the customers you expect to be happy.
  5. 5
Never write your ownReviews from staff, friends or bought accounts are filtered out, and can take your real ones down with them.

What we promise, and what we never will.

Nobody can buy a place on Google's map. We work on what Google rewards, honestly.

What we will never sell you

  • First place on the map for every search in town
  • Fake or paid reviews, ever
  • Addresses you do not really work from
  • Keyword stuffing in your business name, which gets profiles suspended

What you can hold us to

  • Visibility on small, specific nearby searches agreed with you in advance
  • Your Google profile, listings and reviews stay in your name
  • Every review answered, in your voice and approved by you
  • Every location kept correct: hours, address, phone and services

Several locations? One quote for all of them.

Send us the list. We check every profile and quote the whole set together.

We also protect what your listing depends on.

A hijacked profile or a hacked website can wipe out your place on the map in a day. Your site runs on our own cloud, with the SSL certificate renewed for you.

  • Your profile locked to youOwnership in your name, two-step login, and access only for the people who need it.
  • Unwanted edits caughtSuggested edits from strangers and competitors checked and reversed before they cost you calls.
  • A fast website behind the mapThe page your profile links to loads quickly on any phone, because Google checks it.
  • Firewall and spam filteringYour website and booking forms protected from attacks and fake submissions.
  • Daily backupsYour website, photos and review replies copied every day, in a second location.
  • Watched every dayWe notice when your listing changes or your site goes down, and fix it before customers do.

Send us your business name. That is all we need to start.

We look at your listing and send you a short list of what to fix first.

Works even better with Website Maintenance

Keep the website behind your listing working.

We look after the site your customers land on, so a broken page never costs you a call.

What happens after you contact us

No obligation at any step. If we are not the right fit, we tell you who is.

  1. You write or book a call

A few lines about your business is enough. No forms to fill in for an hour.

  2. A person replies

Someone who does this work reads it and comes back with questions, not a sales script.

  3. A short call

We look at your business together and say plainly what we would do first.

  4. A written offer

What we do and what it costs, on paper, before any work starts.

Questions about Google Maps (Local SEO)

Not answered here? A person who does this work replies to every question.

How do I get my business on Google Maps?

Through a Google Business Profile, claimed and verified in your name. We set it up, or take over the one you have, complete it properly and keep it current.

How long does local SEO take to work?

Fixes to the profile and listings are usually picked up within weeks. Moving up against strong competitors takes longer and depends on your reviews and on how far searchers are from you. We tell you what is realistic before we start.

How much do local SEO services cost?

It depends on how many locations you have, how complete your profile is and how competitive your area is, so we quote after a free check rather than from a price list. The quote states exactly what is included.

Can you guarantee a top-three spot on the map?

Only for small, specific searches close to your location, agreed in advance. Nobody can guarantee the map for every search in town, and anyone who does is breaking Google's rules.

What is a Google Business Profile?

The free listing Google shows on the map and beside search results: your name, address, hours, photos, reviews and the buttons to call or get directions. It is the heart of local SEO.

Who owns my Google profile?

You do, always. It is registered in your name. We work on it as a manager, and you can remove our access whenever you choose.

Do you write fake reviews?

Never. Fake reviews get profiles suspended. We make it easy for real customers to leave one, and we answer every review in your voice.

Does my website affect my Google Maps ranking?

Yes. Google looks at the site your profile links to: whether it loads fast, works on phones and says the same thing as your profile. If it needs work, our website team can rebuild it.

We have several locations. Can you manage all of them?

Yes. Each location gets its own profile, its own page on your website and its own listings, all kept consistent and managed as one project.

Do you also cover Apple Maps and other directories?

Yes. Apple Maps, Bing and the directories that matter in your country are kept consistent with your Google profile, because Google checks that they agree.

Be the business nearby people choose.
