Catering enquiries arrive without the information needed to price them. Numbers, date, venue, dietary requirements, service style and budget all matter, and the enquiry usually contains two of the six, so the first exchange is always a slow gathering of facts.

The other constraint is that events cluster. Weekends, seasons and holidays concentrate demand, so knowing early whether a date is even available is worth more to both sides than any amount of menu detail.

The search side is not separate from that. "Wedding catering" and "corporate catering" plus a region, planned months ahead for weddings and days ahead for offices. Ranking for those means the pages exist, the business is verified where it operates, and the reviews are real and recent.

How an event moves through a catering business

An event is booked months ahead and settled in the final week, and the risk sits in everything between.

  1. Enquiry

Enquiries arrive with two of the six facts you need, so the form asks for date, numbers, venue and style up front.

  2. Quote and tasting

Quotes go out and go quiet, so a follow-up with a tasting invitation is sent a few days later without anybody remembering to.

  3. Final numbers

Final headcounts and dietary lists arrive the night before, so a request with a deadline goes out with a form for each.

  4. Balance and event

Balances chased after the event get paid late, so the balance falls due before the date and is invoiced automatically.

What people in this trade ask us

Should we publish per-head prices?
A starting figure per service style, yes. It filters out the enquiries you cannot serve profitably and gets you a better conversation with the rest.
Can enquiries be qualified automatically?
Largely. Date, headcount and budget answer whether a job is worth quoting, and asking for them costs nothing.
How important is the photography?
It is the product. Catering sites with stock photographs of somebody else's food are competing against their own kitchen and losing.
Can clients pay the deposit online?
Yes, by card when they accept the quote. That secures the date on both sides and ends the week of waiting for a transfer while another client asks about the same Saturday.
Can we organise staff for each event?
Yes, a rota per event with confirmations sent to each person's phone. It becomes worth it once you regularly run several events in one weekend.

The infrastructure under it

Managed by the engineers who build the software, on the same contract and the same bill.

Web Hosting

A photograph-heavy site has to stay quick on a phone, because the food photographs are the whole decision.

Backup & Recovery

Contracts, menus and dietary lists for booked events cannot go missing weeks before the date.

What one contract covers

  • One contract. The build, the infrastructure and the work that brings people to it, on one invoice.
  • A named team. The person on the first call stays on the project. No account managers, no handoffs.
  • Operated, not delivered. We keep it running after launch: patching, backups, monitoring and the phone when it breaks.
  • European hosting. Servers in Europe, run by us, with the data staying where you expect it to.
  • Monthly reporting. What changed, what it cost and what it produced, in language you can forward to a board.
  • No lock-in. The code, the domains and the accounts are yours. Leaving is a handover.

See what is costing you customers before you spend anything.

A senior engineer walks your site, your search presence and the way enquiries reach you, then writes down the three things worth fixing first.

  1. 01You tell us what is not working
  2. 02We review the site, the search presence and the enquiry path
  3. 03You get the three fixes worth doing, and what each is worth
