About this service

One team owns the whole of your search work: the crawl problems, the pages, the articles and the links. The hours move between those four each month depending on what is holding the site back, rather than being split evenly on paper. You get one plan, one report and one person to ask.

What a full package should contain, and what it usually does

Many monthly SEO packages are mostly reporting. You get a ranking chart, a list of keywords tracked and a paragraph about algorithm updates, while the actual changes to your site amount to a few meta descriptions. The test is simple: ask what was changed on the site last month, by URL. If the answer is vague, the money went on reports.

Our package splits the work four ways: technical fixes, page optimisation, new content and links. The split is not fixed. In the first two months most hours go to technical work, because publishing articles on a site that search engines cannot crawl properly is money spent twice. Once that is clean, hours move to pages and content, and links come in as there is something worth linking to.

Every report lists what we changed, by URL, beside what moved. When something did not work, the report says so and the next month's plan changes. A programme that only ever reports good news is not being honest with you.

The first six months, realistically

Month one is the audit and the fixes that come out of it. Months two and three are page work on whatever already ranks between position five and twenty, because those pages are closest to earning traffic. New articles start in month two, but an article usually takes three to six months to reach its eventual position, so their effect shows later.

For most sites, the traffic graph starts to move in a way you would notice between month four and month six. A site with no history and no links takes longer. A site with a technical fault that was suppressing everything can jump in weeks once it is fixed. We will tell you which kind of site yours looks like after the first audit.

  • Month 1: crawl, index coverage, speed and fix list, with the urgent fixes implemented
  • Months 2 to 3: priority pages rewritten, first articles published, link prospects researched
  • Months 4 to 6: content calendar running, links placing monthly, first quarterly review
  • From month 6: the plan revised against what actually moved

What you get

Everything below is in the price. Nothing here is an upgrade.

  • Opening technical audit with a prioritised fix list
  • Twelve-month plan, revised every quarter
  • Monthly on-page changes, implemented on your site
  • Articles written, edited and published to the agreed calendar
  • Monthly link placements with live URLs
  • Monthly report and a 30-minute review call

What changes

  • Crawl and indexing blockers fixed before any content budget is spent
  • Every priority page mapped to one search phrase and rewritten around it
  • New articles published on a calendar agreed a quarter ahead
  • Links earned from sites with their own traffic, each one reported by URL
  • A monthly report that shows position and traffic per worked page, not a vanity graph

How it runs

  1. Audit

Month one is a full crawl and a fix list, because content on a broken site is wasted.

  2. Plan

Pages, articles and link targets sequenced over twelve months, sized to the package.

  3. Work

Each month's hours go where the site is weakest, and the report says where they went.

  4. Review

A quarterly look at what moved and what did not, and the plan changed to match.

Questions

When will we see results?

Fixes to a broken site can show within weeks. Content and links usually take four to six months before the traffic graph moves in a way you would notice. We will not promise a ranking, and nobody honest will.

Is there a minimum term?

We ask for six months, because the first two are mostly foundations. After that it runs monthly with 30 days notice, and everything we built stays on your site.

We already have someone writing blog posts. Can that stay?

Yes. We brief your writer instead of replacing them, and the article hours in the package move to pages or links.
