About this service

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews answer questions by drawing on pages they can crawl and quote. We check whether those systems can reach your site, test what they currently say about you, and rewrite your key pages so the facts about your business are stated plainly enough to be picked up. Nobody can guarantee a citation, and we measure honestly.

How AI assistants decide what to say about you

When someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews a question, the answer is built from pages the system has crawled or retrieves at that moment. If its crawler is blocked in your robots.txt, your site is not in the picture. If your pages bury the facts in long marketing paragraphs, the assistant takes them from somewhere else, often a directory, a review site or a competitor's comparison page.

So the first job is access. Many sites block these crawlers by accident, through a security plugin or a copied robots file. Others block them on purpose without weighing the cost. We list every relevant crawler, show what yours allows, and let you decide. Some businesses have good reasons to block training crawlers while still allowing the ones that fetch pages to answer live questions, and the rules can separate the two.

The second job is clarity. Assistants tend to quote short passages that answer a question directly. A page that opens with its answer in two plain sentences, then supports it, is easier to cite than one that builds up to it. We restructure priority pages that way, without turning them into lists of questions.

Measuring something with no search console

There is no official report showing how often an assistant mentions your business. Answers also change with how the question is phrased, who is asking and when. Anyone showing you a single screenshot as proof is showing you one roll of the dice.

Our approach is a fixed set of prompts written from your customers' real questions, run across the main assistants on a set schedule, with every answer saved. That gives a baseline and lets you compare like with like over time. We also note which outside sources the assistants cite for your topic. Often the quickest improvement is correcting your details on those sites, not changing your own.

  • Is the business mentioned at all for the core buying questions
  • Are its facts correct: services, locations, prices, founding details
  • Which sources the answer cites, and whether yours is among them
  • How the answer describes you compared with named competitors

What you get

Everything below is in the price. Nothing here is an upgrade.

  • Crawler access audit and corrected robots.txt
  • Prompt test set with baseline answers from the main assistants
  • Rewritten opening passages and question sections on priority pages
  • Organisation, product and FAQ structured data where it fits
  • Report on third-party sources the assistants rely on for your topic

What changes

  • AI crawlers you want allowed in robots.txt, and the ones you do not blocked deliberately
  • A fixed set of prompts tested, with what each assistant says about you recorded
  • Key pages restructured so each answers one question in its opening passage
  • Business facts consistent across your site, structured data and main third-party profiles

How it runs

  1. Check access

Robots rules, rendering and page speed checked for the crawlers these assistants use.

  2. Baseline

A fixed set of prompts run across assistants, with every answer saved.

  3. Rewrite

Priority pages restructured so facts sit in short, quotable passages.

  4. Re-test

The same prompts run again later, so change is compared like for like.

Questions

Is this different from normal SEO?

It overlaps a lot. Pages that rank well are often the ones assistants quote. The difference is in how content is structured, how facts are stated and how results are measured, since there is no search console for AI answers.

Do we need a special summary file for AI crawlers?

These plain-text summary files are optional, cheap to add and not used by Google. We add one where it is useful, but it is not the work that changes answers.

Can you guarantee we will be cited?

No. Answers vary by prompt, by user and by day. We test a fixed prompt set so you can see the direction of change over time.
