About this service

Most builder sites are recognisable from across the room: the same hero layout, the same stock photo style, the template's default fonts. We redesign the site inside the builder you already use. That means a proper type scale, a colour system, spacing rules and reworked page layouts, applied as global styles so every future page inherits them.

Why builder sites look like builder sites

It is rarely the builder's fault. Wix, Squarespace and Elementor can all produce distinctive sites. They look generic because most are built by picking a template and changing the words. The template's font pairing, its oversized hero image, its three-column feature section and its spacing all stay, and visitors recognise them, even if they could not name the template.

The fix is a small design system: a type scale with clear steps between headings and body, a limited colour palette with defined uses, consistent spacing, and a deliberate treatment for photos. Applied as global styles, it changes the feel of every page at once and keeps new pages in line.

Working inside the builder, not around it

It is possible to make a builder site look like anything with enough custom code. It is rarely wise. Every override is something the builder's editor does not know about, and the next time someone edits that section it may break or revert.

We use the builder's own global styles, section templates and design settings wherever they can do the job, and add custom CSS only for details that matter and cannot be done otherwise. The result looks custom and still behaves like a builder site, which is the point: you chose it so you could edit it yourself.

Questions

Which builders do you work in?

Wix, Squarespace, Shopify themes, WordPress with Elementor or block themes, Webflow and Framer.

Will we lose content?

No. We work on a duplicate where the builder allows it, and back up before changing a live site.

Can you change the page structure too?

Within reason, yes. If the site needs new pages, new copy or a new structure, we recommend pairing this with a copy rewrite.
