About this service
Installing a theme or plugin takes one click. Configuring it properly, checking it does not clash with what is already there, and making sure it does not slow the site down takes longer. We install what you have bought or chosen, set it up for your needs, test it against your other plugins, and remove anything left behind by what it replaces.
Installed is not the same as configured
Plugins and themes ship with default settings designed to work on any site, which means they are rarely right for yours. An SEO plugin with defaults may index your tag archives and thin pages. A caching plugin with defaults may cache your cart page and show one customer another's basket. A security plugin with defaults may lock you out after three mistyped passwords.
We set each one up for how your site actually works and note the choices made. Where a plugin overlaps with one already installed, we tell you and recommend which to keep. Two plugins doing the same job, such as two SEO plugins or two caching layers, is a common source of conflicts and slow pages.
The hidden cost of every plugin
Each plugin loads code, and many load scripts and styles on every page whether they are needed there or not. A slider plugin used on the homepage might add weight to every product page. One plugin rarely matters. Twenty of them, each adding a little, make a site noticeably slower on a phone.
We measure page speed before and after installation, so you can see what each addition costs. When switching themes, we also clean out what the old theme leaves behind: shortcodes that now appear as raw text in your pages, settings stored in the database and plugins installed only to support the old design.

Can you use a theme we got for free from a download site?
No. Unofficial copies of paid themes and plugins often contain malware and receive no updates. We install only from official sources with a valid licence.
Will the site look exactly like the demo?
The layout, yes. The demo uses professional photos and copy written for that layout, so the final look depends on your own content.
How many plugins is too many?
There is no fixed number. What matters is whether each one is maintained, needed and not duplicating another. We will point out the ones you could remove.
