A good screencast shows exactly what to click and why, without the hesitations, mouse wandering and tiny text of a raw screen recording. We plan the path, record cleanly at high resolution, add zooms and highlights on the important parts, and add voice-over and captions. Ideal for onboarding, help centres and feature launches.
Why raw screen recordings frustrate viewers
Most software tutorials are recorded in one take on a large monitor. The presenter hesitates, the mouse wanders, menus open and close while they look for the right option, and the text is unreadable on a phone. Viewers rewind, pause and squint, and many give up and open a support ticket instead.
We script the click path before recording, so there is no searching on screen. Recording is done on a clean demo account at high resolution, and the edit cuts every pause. Zooms bring the viewer close to the area being used, and highlights show where to click. A five-minute raw recording often becomes a two-minute video that is easier to follow.
Plan for the product to change
Software interfaces change, and tutorial libraries go out of date. A single long video covering ten features needs re-recording whenever one of those features changes. Teams put that off, and soon the help centre shows screens that no longer exist.
We split tutorials by task, so a change to one feature affects one short video. We keep project files organised with reusable intros, outros and caption styles, so an update means re-recording a section rather than starting again. The largest package includes updates after a product change.

Can you blur customer data?
Yes, but it is better to record on a demo account with test data. Blurring moving data across a whole video takes time and can miss things.
