About this service
Most brand communities launch to a burst of welcome posts and are silent by month two. We decide first why members would come back, choose the platform that fits, set up the space, the rules and the onboarding, and plan the first ninety days of activity so the launch has something to sustain it.
The silent month two
Brand communities usually launch well. People join out of curiosity, introduce themselves and post once. Then the founders get busy, nobody posts for a week, and the space quietly dies while the member count still looks respectable.
Communities survive on reasons to return, not on reasons to join. Before choosing a platform we decide what members will get on an ordinary week: a weekly expert Q&A, a place to share work for feedback, early access to products, peers in the same situation. If we cannot name that, the community is not ready to build.
Choosing where it lives
Each platform trades reach for control. Facebook Groups are free and familiar but you do not own the member list, and the feed decides who sees what. Discord suits younger and technical audiences but overwhelms people who are new to it. Circle, Skool and similar tools give you control and payments for a monthly fee.
We match the platform to the purpose and to where your members already spend time. A community for tradespeople on their phones needs something different from one for software developers at their desks.
Rules come before members. Guidelines, moderator roles and the welcome flow are set up in advance, because changing rules after a dispute looks like taking sides.
- Facebook Groups: free, familiar, limited ownership
- Discord: real-time and lively, a learning curve for newcomers
- Slack: natural for professional and B2B audiences
- Circle or Skool: owned, paid, built for courses and memberships

Questions
Facebook Group or our own platform?
A Facebook Group is free and where many people already are, but you do not own the members or the data. Paid platforms give you control and cost a monthly fee. We lay out both against your purpose.
How many members do we need to start?
Fewer than you think. Twenty active founding members make a better launch than five hundred silent ones.
Who runs it after launch?
Ideally someone on your team, trained with the handbook. If nobody can, ongoing community management is available.
