About this service
Lenders read business plans differently from investors. They want to know whether you can repay, from what cash and when, and what happens if things go worse than planned. We write the plan around those questions: a monthly cash flow forecast, a clear use of funds, repayment coverage and the risks with their mitigations. Accounting, tax and financial advice are referred to licensed professionals.
Lenders ask different questions from investors
An investor reads a plan looking for upside: how big could this become? A lender reads it looking for downside: will this loan be repaid, and what happens if things go wrong? A plan written to excite investors, with ambitious growth and little about cash, often worries a credit officer more than it reassures them.
We write loan plans around the lender's questions. What exactly will the money be spent on, with quotes attached? When does cash come in and go out each month, with repayments included? How much headroom is there between cash generated and repayments due? What security or personal guarantees are offered? These go up front, not on page twenty.
Show it still works on a bad year
Every forecast is optimistic in some way. Credit officers know this and mentally discount the numbers. A plan that shows only one scenario invites them to imagine the worst. A plan that shows its own downside case, where sales come in lower or costs higher, and still demonstrates repayment, answers the question before it is asked.
We build that downside case into the cash flow model and explain what you would do if it happened, such as delaying a hire, cutting a cost line or drawing on savings. We are not financial advisers and cannot predict the lender's decision, which also depends on your credit history and security. Historical accounts and tax figures should come from your accountant.

Questions
Will this get our loan approved?
We cannot promise that. The lender decides based on your credit history, security and figures. A clear plan makes it easier for them to say yes if the numbers support it.
Do you prepare accounts or tax figures?
No. Historical accounts and tax matters should come from your accountant. We build forecasts from them.
Can you use our bank's template?
Yes, and we recommend it. Many lenders have a preferred format, and following it saves the credit officer time.
