About this service

For a product, portal or app feature that needs to exist as something people can click before it exists as code. Two weeks: the flows agreed, the screens designed against a real component system, a clickable prototype, and a handover a developer can build from.

Something to click before something to build

The cheapest place to discover a flow is wrong is a prototype. The most expensive is production. A sprint puts the journeys in front of real people while changing them still costs an afternoon rather than a release.

Screens are built from a component set rather than drawn one at a time, which is why the tenth screen costs a fraction of the first and why the handover is buildable rather than aspirational.

  • The journeys agreed as flows before anything is designed
  • Screens at mobile and desktop, from one component set
  • Every state designed, including empty, loading and error
  • A clickable prototype, so the flow is tested rather than imagined
  • Handover with spacing, behaviour and states documented

The states nobody designs

Empty, loading and error are where most product design stops and most product frustration starts. A screen designed only in its successful, fully populated state is a screen a developer has to invent three more versions of, usually badly and always inconsistently.

The file is shared into your own account. Whatever happens next, the design does not live behind our login.

What you get

Everything below is in the price. Nothing here is an upgrade.

  • User flows for the journeys in scope
  • Designed screens at mobile and desktop
  • Clickable prototype
  • Component set with states
  • Developer handover with spacing, type and behaviour noted

What changes

  • A prototype real enough to test with actual users
  • Screens built from a component set, not drawn one at a time
  • Every state designed, including empty, loading and error
  • A handover that answers a developer's questions before they ask

How it runs

  1. Flow

The journeys, agreed as boxes and arrows before anything is designed.

  2. Design

Screens built from a component set so the tenth screen costs less than the first.

  3. Prototype

Clickable, so the flow is tested rather than imagined.

  4. Hand over

Spacing, states and behaviour documented, not left to be inferred.

Questions

Do you build it as well?

Not in this offer. It ends in a prototype and a handover, which your developers or ours can build from.

Which tool do you design in?

Figma, with the file shared to your account so it stays yours.

Can you work from our existing design system?

Yes, and it makes the sprint faster. Where the system has gaps we extend it rather than starting a second one beside it.

Get it scoped

The work is not the same size twice, so it is scoped before it is priced. The scoping call costs nothing.
