About this service
For web applications with errors that nobody has had time to chase, or a developer who has left. We reproduce each bug, find the cause rather than the symptom, fix it in a branch, test that nothing else broke and explain what happened. Works on most common stacks: PHP, Node.js, Python, Ruby, .NET, React and Vue.
Fixing the cause, not the symptom
The fastest way to fix a bug is to patch the symptom: catch the error, hide the message, add a special case. It looks fixed until the same root cause appears somewhere else, often in a more damaging form.
We trace each bug to its cause before changing code. Sometimes it is a single line. Sometimes it reveals a deeper problem, such as data that was never validated or two parts of the system with different assumptions. We tell you what we found and recommend the right level of fix.
Code someone else wrote
Most bug-fix work happens in codebases written by developers who have since left. Documentation is thin, tests are missing and setting up a working environment takes time. That first day of investigation is not wasted: it is what makes the fixes safe.
Every fix comes as a pull request with a clear explanation, so your team or next developer can review and understand it. Where the codebase allows, we add a test that would have caught the bug, so it cannot quietly return.
If a bug turns out to be much bigger than estimated, we stop and tell you before continuing. You decide whether to proceed, defer it or approach it differently.
