About this service
A prototype in the hand answers questions no render can: does it fit, is it comfortable, do the parts go together. We prepare your CAD for printing, choose the process that suits what you are testing, print the parts, finish them where needed and ship them to you. Changes from testing go into the next iteration.
Match the prototype to the question
Every prototype should answer a specific question, and different questions need different prototypes. Does it fit in the hand? A rough FDM print answers that in a day. Do these two parts click together? That needs tolerances set carefully and a material with the right flex. What will it look like on the shelf? That needs a smooth, painted appearance model.
We ask what you are testing before choosing the process. Printing a high-detail painted model to test a fit wastes money and time; printing a rough part to show investors undersells the product. Each prototype comes with a note of what it can tell you and what it cannot.
- Fit and size: FDM printing, quick and cheap
- Fine detail and small parts: resin printing
- Appearance: sanded, primed and painted finish
- Function under load: often needs the final material, not a print
Plan for more than one round
The first prototype almost always reveals something. A clip is too stiff. A wall is thinner than it felt on screen. A button sits where a thumb does not naturally fall. That is the point of prototyping, and a plan that assumes one print will be final is a plan for disappointment.
The larger packages include revision rounds: you test the part, send feedback, we update the model and print again. Printed parts differ from final moulded parts in strength and surface, so we also flag which conclusions from a printed prototype will hold in production and which will need checking again with the real material.
What you get
Everything below is in the price. Nothing here is an upgrade.
- Print-ready preparation of your model
- Printed prototype parts, shipped
- Finishing such as sanding or priming where included
- Revised model after feedback in the larger packages
What changes
- Parts printed in the process suited to the test, such as FDM for fit or resin for fine detail
- Models prepared so parts that should fit together actually do
- A clear note of what each prototype can and cannot tell you
- Feedback from testing turned into a revised model for the next print
How it runs
Prepare
Model checked for printability and tolerances set for fits.
Print
Parts printed in the process and material suited to the test.
Finish
Supports removed and surfaces finished to the agreed level.
Iterate
Your test feedback applied to the model for the next round.

Questions
How big can the parts be?
Most parts up to about 250 mm on a side print in one piece. Larger parts are split and joined, which we plan into the model.
Will a printed prototype behave like the final product?
Not exactly. Printed parts differ from moulded ones in strength and surface. They are right for testing fit, feel and look, not for final strength testing.
Do you ship outside the EU?
Yes, with shipping time and any import duties at your cost, quoted before dispatch.
