About this service
Over-retouched headshots look like plastic and make people uneasy when they meet in person. We remove temporary things — blemishes, stray hairs, flyaways, uneven lighting — and keep skin texture, character and age. For team photos, we match colour and background so a page of faces looks like one set.
The plastic headshot problem
Heavy skin smoothing makes people look like wax figures. It also creates an awkward moment when a client meets someone in person who looks ten years older than their photo. In professional settings, natural photos build more trust than flawless ones.
Our rule is simple: remove what is temporary, keep what is permanent. Spots, redness, stray hairs, lint on a jacket and uneven lighting go. Skin texture, laughter lines, freckles and anything that makes the person recognisable stay. We agree the level on one test image before doing the rest.
A team page that looks like a set
Team pages often show photos taken over several years, in different offices, with different cameras and backgrounds. Even if each photo is fine, the page looks disorganised, and new starters' photos never quite match.
We match colour, brightness, crop and background across the whole set, so the page looks like it was shot on one day. Where backgrounds are very different, we replace them with a consistent colour or texture.
The retouch guide records crop, background and colour settings. When someone new joins, their photo can be edited to match without starting the process again.

Questions
Will people look edited?
Not if it is done properly. We keep skin texture, lines and features, and remove only what would not be there on another day.
Can you fix photos taken on a phone?
Often, if the lighting is reasonable. We will check a sample and tell you honestly if a reshoot would be better.
Can new starters be matched later?
Yes. The retouch guide records the settings, so future photos match the set.
